Brand Strategy · 01

Before your brand
looks different,
it needs a reason
to be different.

We uncover what makes your business worth choosing, then turn it into a clear position, personality and message your brand can build from.

Brand strategy begins by asking better questions.

  1. Audience: Who are you actually for?
  2. Difference: Why should anyone choose you?
  3. Position: What do you want to be known for?

Good design starts with better questions.

02 · Sound familiar?

A brand problem doesn’t always look like a brand problem.

01

People don’t really understand what makes us different.

The offer is strong, but the brand isn’t making the difference obvious enough.

02

We’ve grown. Our brand hasn’t.

The business has moved on, while the brand still describes an earlier version of it.

03

Everything we make feels like it came from a different company.

Without a shared position and message, every campaign starts from scratch.

Other familiar situations include: every piece of marketing feeling inconsistent; knowing where the business is going but not how to communicate it; and preparing to rebrand without changing things merely for the sake of change.

03 · Build the strategy

So what does brand strategy actually mean?

FAQs

Questions worth answering early.

What’s the difference between brand strategy and brand identity?

Brand strategy decides what the brand stands for, who it is for, and how it should communicate. Brand identity turns that thinking into the visual and verbal system people recognise.

Do I need brand strategy before a rebrand?

Not always, but it usually helps. Strategy clarifies what should change, what should stay, and why, so a rebrand is purposeful rather than cosmetic.

What will I receive at the end?

A usable strategic framework covering the decisions your brand needs to move forward. Exact deliverables depend on scope, but typically include positioning, audience, differentiation, personality and messaging direction.

Can skapa create the identity afterwards?

Yes. Strategy often leads into brand identity, guidelines and wider creative or digital work, so the thinking and the making stay connected.
